Academic Mission

The Bachelor of Oil and Gas Management program at Universal Technology and Management University (formerly Uganda Technology and Management University) provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors of the petroleum industry. This interdisciplinary program integrates technical knowledge with essential business and management principles relevant to the oil and gas sector. Students will explore topics such as exploration and production, reservoir engineering fundamentals, contract management, financial analysis, and environmental stewardship. The curriculum emphasizes critical thinking, problem-solving, and strategic decision-making within the complex global energy landscape. Graduates will be well-prepared for roles in exploration companies, service providers, regulatory bodies, and financial institutions within the oil and gas industry. Key skills developed include project management, resource economics, risk assessment, and an understanding of industry-specific regulations.
