Begin each item on a fresh page. P615/1 ART AND DESIGN Paper 1 2026 2 hours 2 SECTION A This section is compulsory . 1. During an international art exhibition held at a cultural centre in Kampala, several pictures were displayed. The theme of the exhibition was Lessons from Ancient Greek Art . Many guests, including art students, were invited to view and appreciate the artworks. Figure A is one of the pictures that were displayed. On the other hand, other guests believed that Ancient Greek Art greatly influenced later artistic civilizations in the whole world. Task: Analyse the features shown in the displayed picture ( Figure A) and how they are relevant to Uganda ’s architectural practice today. 3 Turn Over SECTION B Respond to one item from this section. 2. The Industrial Revolution of the 19th Century led to many social and technological changes which affected the way artists in Europe created their visual presentations especially in painting.
