Academic Mission
The Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion and Education program at Uganda Martyrs University equips students with the knowledge and skills to design, implement, and evaluate health programs within diverse communities. This undergraduate program explores foundational principles of public health, behavioral science, communication strategies, and program planning methodologies. Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of health disparities, social determinants of health, and evidence-based interventions. The curriculum emphasizes practical application through case studies, community outreach, and research projects. Graduates will be prepared for roles in public health agencies, non-governmental organizations, community health centers, and international health initiatives, developing critical skills in needs assessment, advocacy, and health education delivery.
