Academic Mission

The Bachelor of Human Rights, Peace, and Humanitarian Intervention program at Uganda Christian University equips students with a comprehensive understanding of the principles and practices of human rights, conflict resolution, and humanitarian aid. This interdisciplinary program explores the root causes of human rights violations and armed conflict, while also examining effective strategies for peacebuilding and humanitarian intervention. Students will engage with theoretical frameworks and practical case studies, developing critical analytical skills essential for addressing complex global challenges. The curriculum fosters an understanding of international law, humanitarian ethics, and the role of various actors in promoting justice and alleviating suffering. Graduates of this program are prepared for diverse career paths in non-governmental organizations, international governmental organizations, government agencies, and advocacy groups focused on human rights, peacebuilding, and humanitarian assistance. Key skills developed include advocacy, program management, cross-cultural communication, and ethical decision-making in challenging environments.
