Academic Mission
The Bachelor of Gender and Women Health (B.GWH) program at Mbarara University of Science and Technology offers a comprehensive interdisciplinary approach to understanding the complex interplay of gender, sex, and health across the lifespan. Students will critically examine social, cultural, economic, and political determinants influencing health outcomes for diverse populations, with a particular focus on women and marginalized gender groups. The curriculum integrates theoretical frameworks from public health, sociology, anthropology, and gender studies to foster a nuanced understanding of health inequities. Through rigorous coursework and research opportunities, students will develop analytical skills to identify health challenges and design evidence-based interventions.
