Academic Mission
The Bachelor of Environmental Health Science program at Makerere University provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between environmental factors and human health. This undergraduate degree equips graduates with the knowledge and skills to identify, assess, and control environmental hazards that impact public well-being. Core curriculum areas include epidemiology, toxicology, environmental law, and risk assessment, alongside practical training in field investigations and data analysis. Students will explore topics such as water and sanitation, solid waste management, air quality, and occupational health. Graduates are prepared for careers in public health agencies, environmental consulting firms, and non-governmental organizations.
