Academic Mission

The Master of Arts in Religion, Peace and Conflict Resolution program at the Islamic University in Uganda offers advanced study in the complex interplay between religious traditions, peacebuilding, and conflict transformation. This interdisciplinary program critically examines the roles of religion in both perpetuating and resolving conflict across diverse cultural contexts. Students will engage with theoretical frameworks, historical case studies, and practical methodologies for peace education and mediation. The curriculum emphasizes the development of analytical skills to understand the theological, social, and political dimensions of religious conflict. Graduates will be equipped for careers in international development, interfaith dialogue, humanitarian aid, and policy analysis, or to pursue further academic research in related fields.
