Academic Mission
The Master of Science in Environmental Science and Natural Resources Management program at Gulu University offers advanced study in the principles and practices of understanding, conserving, and sustainably managing environmental systems and natural resources. This program integrates ecological, social, and economic perspectives to address complex environmental challenges facing Uganda and the wider region. Students will engage with cutting-edge research methodologies and develop critical analytical skills through coursework and a substantial research project. Core areas of study include biodiversity conservation, sustainable land management, water resource management, climate change adaptation, and environmental policy. The curriculum is designed to equip graduates with the expertise necessary for leadership roles in environmental policy, conservation organizations, resource management agencies, and environmental consulting firms. Key skills developed include data analysis, project management, stakeholder engagement, and scientific communication.
