Academic Mission
The Bachelor of Development Studies program at Gulu University equips students with a comprehensive understanding of the theories, practices, and challenges of development. This interdisciplinary program examines social, economic, political, and environmental dimensions of development, fostering critical analysis and problem-solving skills. Students engage with contemporary development issues, research methodologies, and policy frameworks relevant to local and global contexts. The curriculum emphasizes practical application through case studies, fieldwork, and engagement with development organizations. Graduates will be prepared for careers in government, non-governmental organizations, international agencies, and the private sector, developing essential skills in project management, research, advocacy, and community engagement.
